What is goal date?
A goal date is the date by which you can reasonably expect to achieve the goal weight you set for yourself. It also changes based on how much you eat. For example, if you exceed your Slims for the week, it will impact the goal date. However, a couple of things to note:
A goal date is an approximation based on what we “think” the body will do. However, as we know, human bodies and its internal mechanisms are extremely complex. So do note that the date mentioned is only an approximation.
The more weight you aim to lose, the worse the goal date assumption will be. A good rule of thumb is that the goal date assumption works well for when you want to lose up to 10% of your initial weight.
Pay special attention to this when you exceed your Slims allowance. You will quickly realise that small transgressions have minimal impact on this value. This is important to note as we overestimate the impact of lapses. For example, a cake binge might add 2000 calories extra to your diet. But if you keep following Slim.in, it will only add 4-5 days to your goal date. Now the lapse does not look so bad!
