Rounders offers a good opportunity to get outside into the fresh air and sunshine. It's good exercise and can improve fitness.
There's also a good social scene and playing rounders can be a great way to make friends.
Rounders is based on skill rather than endurance and doesn't require a lot of running.
What's the aim of the game?
The rules of rounders are similar to those of softball and baseball. A ball is thrown by a pitcher to a batter. After the batter hits the ball, he or she runs in a circle, passing a series of markers on the way.
Fielders try to catch or collect the ball while the batter runs. The batter is out if the ball is caught before it hits the ground or if the ball is fielded before the batter reaches a marker.

Training tips for rounders
To help train for rounders, choose activities that will develop your basic running, batting, bowling and fielding.
You can carry out many exercises using the basic game equipment. An example of a training exercise could be hitting the ball with the bat and aiming at a target on a wall. The closer you hit the ball to the centre of the target, the more points you score.
